SCS Thirsk – officially known as S. Calvert & Sons – has been recycling scrap metal since 1920. Starting out with a horse and cart in Thirsk, our family-run business has evolved into a fully licensed recycling centre serving homes, farms, and businesses across North Yorkshire.
Four generations of the Calvert family have built this business on trust, integrity, and hard work. When you visit our yard in Carlton Miniott, you’ll meet familiar faces – often members of our family – who treat every customer with respect, whether you’re dropping off a few cables or a full lorry load.
